
Test and
Qualification Engineer
The
Candidate
A University graduate, preferably with
a good B.Eng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
(or a closely related course), who has a good knowledge of Power Electronic
technology. The candidate will ideally have 3-5 years’ experience in an SMPS
test and qualification environment.
The Role
- Test, characterize and qualify power conversion
circuits based on specifications.
- Review product requirements, specifications and
industry standards.
- Create test plans, review and format test data, and
write test reports.
- Manage project through qualification process.
- Work closely with design team to ensure product
design quality and reliability.
- Prepare for design reviews.
- Work to agreed timelines & project plans.
- Interface with overseas divisions of the company.
Competencies/Skills
- Sound knowledge of Power Electronics.
- Familiarity with various power conversion topologies;
flyback, forward, full-bridge, push-pull, etc.
- Good knowledge of power electronic devices and components
used in SMPS.
- Hands-on work experience with SMPS test and
qualification.
- Very good knowledge of power electronics lab
equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers etc.
- Knowledge of international safety standards (e.g.
UL60950) and EMI standards (e.g. EN55022) advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of product design and
qualification cycle crucial.
- Experience of at least 3 complete qualification
cycles of new products.
- Good command of English and excellent communication
skills.
